Has anyone come across any scholar or theologian (or any commentary) that has
postulated the idea that the people mentioned in Romans 16 were _sent_ by
Paul to Rome? (The reason: so that there would be a Gentile/Jewish church in
the eternal city to match the culture. The idea would be when heard that
Claudius died... assuming his edict barring Jews from the city was lifted...
he sent Priscilla and Aquila to Rome, then sent people from his different
Gentile churches to go there also to begin the church.)

This theory would nicely explain how Paul knew all those 26+ people, how they
all got there so quickly after Paul's Ephesian trip (Epaneatus was from
Ephesus for example), and it would also make it unnecessary to separate this
passage from the book of Romans.

Would love to get your feedback on this idea. And if it can be disproven, to
punch holes in it.

Best,
Frank A.
