Whoops, hit send too fast. So he owned a shop and had to use the one-stop
distributors. The labels wouldn't even talk to him. I know that
distrubtors are also the way they major's can get a cut of the indy labels.
The David Byrne piece on the future of music from Wired a few months back is
a great piece all about it and has a good interview with Mac.
