Hi,

thanks for sharing that. I saw them last saturday, and am still thinking
about it. I really need to travel to see him. The following is part of a
note i sent to a friend yesterday, since then, i changed it a touch.

" " He is terribly talented, and reminds me of a cross between Jim Morrison
(anger, mood swings, talent, now his looks, poetry and difficult ways), Van
Morrison (song style, bluesy), Bruce (guitar and that is it), jesse Malin
(who showed up at the show saturday night) Hendrix (guitar). I kind of like
seeing him go off on others, in a total jerk like way (he freaked at the
sound crew, dissed the drummer, very baby tantrum like. I saw him in a solo
show a few years ago at the Beacon and he flipped on an audience member who
requested Bryan Adams "Summer of '69" (hmmm, kind of like having a name of
"Harry Manilow")). He certainly has a history of flipping out. I guess in
reality he is just a big jerk (being nice). He looks terribly difficult to
work with or for. Nevertheless, at saturdays show, I felt like I was
witnessing rock n roll history. He blew me away. Latest one is "cold roses",
which i need to get. He can play that guitar. He gets so lost in it, in such
tangents, that it really goes threw my soul as I watch him play. I keep
thinking of a Hendrix comparison. I read Uncut last night (www.uncut.net)
and there were a few letters that were calling his last two albums some real
important stuff. They were comparing it to Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks".

I liked Starland Ballroom, my first time there, and i hope to be back. nice
big hall."

I linked Uncut, which is an awesome rock magazine. I liken it to Rolling
Stone in the 70's. They are owned incidentally by Time Warner (TWX)
