http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/Win98SE_Boot_CD_USA.zip (750K, 1.5MB iso)

boots in a few seconds and recognizes FAT32 C:, whence I booted to BL2 with loadlin.

Some day I will learn to make a BL35 iso (or a 700MB BL2 iso).

This boot disk (Philips CD-R80 40x) for some reason would not boot in the Thinkpad 770E (copied too fast?) but Ultimate Boot CD (on a cheap CD-R copied a while ago maybe on another computer) offers five DOS boot disks. LZ-DOS had various choices including 'clean' boot which was instant, to a:, thence to non-bootable C: where loadlin worked (using it now).

You need to sit there while it is booting and hit Enter, arrow up to DOS boot disks, down to LZ-DOS and down again to clean. I will learn to make my own boot disk. Syslinux works from boot CD, maybe so does LILO.
