Yes. Download some version (such as 3.2.3), unpack it, and:

./configure --enable-languages=c,c++
make
make install

You should have no trouble if you were able to build netpbm with
this configuration.

I recommend 3.2.3. If it cannot compile a program, then 2.95.3 can,
in my experience. 4.0.2 is very new and I think that they are still ironing
the bugs out.

You need no FreeDOS disk image... if you already have a DOS
bootdisk, you can use that.
