Thanks Sindi

first I have missed up something with all thise small ps, gs, gv. I
have bin doing *ps filname.ps' instat of 'gs filname.ps' whene I did
'gs filname.ps' I got a more usfull idear of what was going on. It
seems that the defoult output of this SW4 version of gs is svgalib and
that this will not work. I will try with gv from SW4 don't you thing
that would be the solution if I will have an X!! output and first try
to stay whit the older libs (lib5 and frinds)?

Try running gs as
gs -sDEVICE=x11 filename.ps
to use x11 instead of the default svgalib.

You can also change the default by adding a line to /etc/profile to make gs always use X11.

But first you need to check whether X11 is even supported by this gs. Type gs --help for a list of supported devices.

The package contains a lot of documentation which explains these things, but it took me a long time to understand this.

You can also use gs to print to many different printers, with a complicated filter setup, or command line. There are some postings about this from 2-3 years ago.
