Installing the WP8 I have on Slack 4.0 was a total breeze. I had a little
bit of a hangup since I was trying to install as user. But when I
switched to root it was very simple and fast (maybe I should have chown'd
the files in the install directory so it would work as user?). I did the
full install: the full install is 61-70 MB. I didn't look at the size of
the other options (there were two others--minimal, I think, and custom).
One potential issue: it prompts for a license number after install, and
says you have 90 days to use it before needing the license number. I seem
to recall reading that it doesn't actually expire like that prompt says it
will. Anyway, it's a really nice looking program--way ahead of its time
for a Linux wordprocessor. I didn't do much with it, just fired it up and
typed a few words to make sure it was working. I may test it more later
with some difficult tasks. I did an ldd on the binary, and here's the
output:

--------------------------------------------------------
libXt.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x4000b000)
libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x4004d000)
libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 (0x400ed000)
libm.so.5 => /lib/libm.so.5 (0x400fc000)
libc.so.5 => /lib/libc.so.5 (0x40105000)
libSM.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x401c5000)
libICE.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x401ce000)
--------------------------------------------------------

Anything look troublesome there, Steven? Those are some Xwindows
dependencies, aren't they? Suggestions based on the above for a possible
BL3 install, or should I call it quits?

James
