er ... Are we talking at cross-purposes here ? I was discussing the
latest BL3.

I already have a perfectly working BL2, which is already running AbiWord,
and can
do so from icewm, Gnome, Enlightenment and KDE - all functioning well, along
with a
handfull of other windows managers.
