Don't forget to set your CMOS to boot from A before C if you want to boot
from floppy disk.

The first version of BL I used was BL2, run in RAM disk from hard drive
rather than floppy disks. But you need to be able to boot to DOS to use
it and it sounds like this is a problem because Lindows put on a boot
manager. You don't need a boot manager or a separate partition since it
only runs from DOS, in RAM. A couple of us had problems getting Steven's
install to floppy routine working from BL2 so he changed it for BL3.

BL3 can also be installed without needing either a linux partition or
floppy disks, and any changes you make to it are automatically saved,
unlike the BL2 ramdisk version. You can also add 10MB or so of additional
programs or data.

To boot into DOS you first need to undo what Lindows dis.
How would one uninstall a boot manager, fdisk /mbr?

We used this once to remove some virus detection software.

I did a search on 'remove boot manager' and there was a different
procedure if linux was still installed, something like lilo -u /dev/hda

This is for lilo installed to the boot record of a primary master hard
drive, different for scsi - sda, or it might be different if linux is
installed differently but I could not follow). MS warns you to do this at
your own risk and something else might be damaged (Windows fault tolerance
set - what is that?.

I have never used lilo. Would one run the above command after loading
linux?
