I looked on line a bit and found that people sell (or sold)
ISA 10baseT (RJ45, unshielded twisted pair, UTP, phone jack type
ISA 10baseT plus 10base2 (BNC, thin coax, round) combination
PCI 10baseT
PCI 10baseT plus 10base2 combination - what we have already
PCI 10baseT/100baseTX
THere is also 100baseT4 - is this even faster?
Is 10baseT the 10MB/sec and 100baseTX 100MB/sec?
If so, what speed is 10base2?
My partner said nobody is using coax any more.
I will look for a second PCI card that has the 10baseT connector on it
(with or without 10base2). We donated a lot of these to the local Kiwanis
club. If they are out, perhaps I will mail order from you or another list
member who offered scads of these cards.
Other than loading the correct NIC module, what else does one do to
transfer files via a network card? For plip you had to type in five lines
carefully, the last one different at each end. Is there a BL FAQ?
