Ok, there's one question. But wait, here's a second question:

and where is the directory to download this

Now wait a minute, there's even a third question:

what are the steps from downloading this

And a fourth!:

then to compiling the rdesktop

And even a fifth!:

and to run

One question became 5 somehow. Here's some feedback on your 5 questions.
Question 1: gcc and associated files takes up about 120 MB of disk space.
Question 2: I'll leave this for Steven to address; he's much better than
me at finding where these packages are located on the CD (maybe under
d1?). Question 3: well, the usual "installpkg" should suffice for getting
the compiler (and related files?) installed on your system. Question 4:
compiling rdesktop has to be done according to directions provided with
the download, usually found in a file called README and/or INSTALL. It
often goes like this: ./configure then make then make install (and
sometimes make clean). The README/INSTALL files should clarify this.
Question 5: I seriously doubt you'll get any help on this list on running
rdesktop. I've only heard of it and, as I recall, it's sort of a VNC
workalike program that allows you to open another remote computer's
desktop (a Win machine, as I'm recalling) under a Linux desktop. I really
doubt that the survpc'ers that are attracted to BL are going to have any
interest in doing this sort of thing. But there are bound to be lists
dedicated to running rdesktop where you could get help with that. Or
maybe someone on the linux-newbie list could give pointers.
