I also had to edit fstab when it set my DOS partition to ext2.
This eliminated the error messages while booting.
I am also using DR-DOS, which calls my first primary partition (DOS) hda4.

Any idea what DR-DOS does to cause these problems?

I think we used PQ-MAGIC to partition, but it might have been DR-DOS
fdisk.
