of the basic meaning 'pileup, cover, overlap, hide', and by implication 'large, huge', as the כביר KABIYR of Is. 16:14, of Is. 17:12 and of Job 15:10. Also the כפיר KPIYR, 'mature lion', of Judges 14:5. Also the כפור KPOR, 'hoarfrost', of Ps. 147:16. Also the act QABAR, 'bury, cover with earth'.
