Good question.
I notice that "ani" is used a little more than twice as often as
"anoki", but that both terms are used by the same people. That would
indicate that some difference in emphasis or meaning that they
recognized. But what it was, may have been lost.
Has anyone made a detailed study?

Dear All,
Does anyone think that there is a semantic or any other difference is use or
meaning between "anu" and "anaxnu"? Or, for that matter, between "ani" and
"anokhi"? Are they used in different genres, are they preferred by different
literary sources?
What do y'all think?
