If Yah had eyes in human form, just as we do, how was he able to see
David growing in his mother's womb?
If Yah had a physical back, how is he able to see all things? (even
what is behind him)

Greetings,
I have asked about this at two different locations, one being my forum and
the other being the Yahoo Group LXX. I have received excellent information
from both, especially from Robert Kraft. My question is primarily about ayin
and ghayin and the dating of the LXX. Perhaps I jumped the gun a bit in my
forum, but it still makes me wonder. Bob Kraft alerted me to the article by
Frederick (Fritz) Knobloch "Hebrew Sounds in Greek Script: An Analysis of
Transcriptions and Related Phenomena in the Septuagint, with Special Focus
on Genesis." Ph.D. dissertation, University of Pennsylvania (available from
University Microfilms), 1995. My question is two-fold. First, does anyone
have this dissertation and second, does anyone have more information about
the letter ghayin before it fell out of use in Hebrew? I was wandering
because in the LXX (or rather, certain Old Greek translations) sometimes an
ayin is translated as a vowel and sometimes as a gamma. Could ayin/ghayin
have been the same letter much like sin/shin was, but fell out of use before
diacritics? What about the disapparence of the uvular h?

kindest regards,
Chris Weimer
