There is a dagesh in the qof, as was already pointed out. You may find the

The root in question also has a Qal in Exo 16:4, 5, 22. But that
wouldn't explain
the dagesh in the tet. There are some instances where a dagesh hazaq appears
in the third root letter (as in Hanukkah Ps 30:1), but I am not sure
what are the
conditions that bring this about. Maybe its something along the lines
of "accented syllable after two short open syllables will place a
dagesh hazaq to
close the second syllable". But that's just a guess.
