Yes, this is almost certainly the result of your AOL software not properly interpreting the encoding indicator on my e-mail. This was actually “Content-Type: text/plain;

            charset="windows-1255"”, so indicating not Unicode but the Windows Hebrew encoding – which supports vowel points but not cantillations, I think.

I did a test with formatting the text as Times New Roman (which I use to enter Hebrew in HTML documents) but ended up with ???????.  I think it's AOL.
