It is spelled mknode.

Thanks for this information but it was not needed here.

I was able to make a link from /dev/photopc to /dev/fd0 and it worked to
retrieve digital photos (via Com1). I would be very surprised if there
were major and minor numbers posted for a camera cable that plugs into
Com1.
