Except I can't boot from my CD drive (for some reason, damn). So I have to
use the chroot option. Is there something that the boot-install does that
I need to know about? what script gets run from the boot install?

If I wasn't so pig-headed I would have given up on this distribution quite
some time ago.

Oh really .... and where, might I ask, are these instructions for doing an
install? I'm sorry, but if you want people to use this distribution, you
need to make the install instructions more accessable, and complete!
