I have been running the bugs as follows:

1) accept them into my name (you can track by adding yourselves as .cc)
2) I fix the problem, maybe need feedback by posting questions to the
bugs themselves.
3) create patch and attach to bug.
4) also apply patch to devel sorcery (current version)

if ( you don't want to run devel sorcery ) then

get patch file from bug
(always tries to download as a *.cgi file, just rename to a.patch)
apply patch to your installed system (patch -p0 < a.patch)
might need to apply just to one file or adjust the -p value
(see man page patch)
run sorcery as described in bug to see if patch fixed problem
report success/failure on bug
receive glory as tester!

otherwise

sorcery update to devel
test problem with sorcery and report to bug

end if

That is a tester!
