The way I understood it is: since we'll be mirroring an old file, we'll
know the extension to it (since it was successfully copied to our mirror).
Unless (I guess) the mirroring process does fuzzy downloading too?
Otherwise, what's in the maintainer's file and what's on the mirror should
correspond.
