funny that you should ask this, as I was about to create a bug on the same
topic.

I have recently created a local glibc-2.6.1 spell and have rebuilt lots of
stuff using it, including the latest hal, on both amd32 and amd64.


Regarding the kernel headers, I ditched them completely and created a symlink
to /usr/src/linux/include/linux. spells which are really sensitive to this
have triggers to recast themselves when linux changes anyway.
