I like it, (LL's post, below) but it seems, complex for now.
I may have a misconception going on in my head... Re, seed swaps.

Umm.. Bill, I've kind of wondered if you weren't making two things into
one. There's Seed swaps and then there's individual wants/haves. They're
not the same thing. I don't think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

(above, edited for brevity)

You have stated what I think & feel.
You may also have come up with a solution.
I have to think about it, but YahOops lists can hide addies
or partial addies so they can't be gleaned easily.
Yet, allow you to email that person.

I'm gonna toss this out there, as a possible, fast, temporary solution.

I make a side list in YahOops.
Each interested party is invited and subscribes.
Each person writes, once.
I make a database with an example in it.
The single message written becomes an ID/email addy link.
That take the interested poarty to the message written...
...and "Reply To" can be made.

The database would have a single line per member.
The 10 columns would be part, needed links and rough location
or whatever... and the rest would be open to fill with wants and desires.
One spot would be maybe, Greens.
You'd put anything green there.
Another may be veg-fruits, like squash, melons.
Another, legumes.
One for misc,... flowers, etc?

Depending on:
When LL has his rig set up.
If this works, (99%)
And other ideas that will now suddenly pour in...! ;>)

Meanwhile, I see no reason we cannot post haves 'n wants, on list,
and respond, offlist.

Mention quantity too. I will need very few of anything
that I do want... small garden. This also means I won't
correctly fulfill the required quantity for a proper genetically
diversified grow-out... (Mention if they are home, or store,
what year, if stored "well." The usual stuff.

I.e.; Some plants require about 25
to mix genes adequately, I am told. Ideally, I would swap
later with someone(s) a portion of my seeds and visa versa
to recreate the mix.
