I've grown taro for years in 5 gallon containers in my house using
deep saucers under the containers. In a house the main issue seems to
be aphids & the leaves degenerating, I usually have to cut them back
several times in a winter. The transpire a huge amount of moisture
into the air, which is the main thing I use them for, since my house
is very dry & heated with wood. I usually just get unwaxed taro roots
from asian groceries & have never had an issue with getting them to
grow.
