Just because nine people do native stuff organically does not mean
that herbicide companies are not lobbying for natives, or making
billions from the efforts to eliminate "invasives" or "exotics".

I have witnessed dozens of "organic" native projects using glyphosate.
They had some mealy mouthed way to justify that it was saving them a
lot of work, or that that was the only way they could get funding, or
the funding for the project was reduced so they couldn't afford to do
it manually and they were told to do this to save money and "it will
be gone from the environment in 72 hours" and "look at the MSDS - it
is safer than table salt" etc. So after these people have spent more
than a year to get the grant, they choose to not argue this one
"little" point. And basically, at that point, the glyphosate will be
used, the only question is whether they will find a new project
director that isn't so whiny about using glyphosate.

Over and over and over ....

People have had their personal property sprayed and then forced to pay
the bill. By weed boards. In the name of pro-native/anti-invasive.

You can kinda see it all in the herbicide company board room: "what
are we gonna do about the kooks that rally against our stuff?" "I
know, let's leverage their passion instead of confronting them
directly! We'll support their projects, but screw them in the end!
We'll double our profits and cut our expenses by a factor of ten!"
