Friends,

Join us for an amazing weekend of learning, community and fun this coming
weekend, Saturday and Sunday September 10th and 11th from 9 until 5. The
second annual Columbus weekend permaculture workshop presented by the EARTH
Center at Ohio State.

The course will present you with the fundamental design principles used in
permaculture in order to design truly connected and sustainable landscapes,
architectures, economic systems and communities. Permaculture is one of the
few solutions to the trilemma of food insecurity, energy depletion, and
climate change. Learn how we can create forge a better and brighter path
forward.

We will have classroom presentations and activities at the Wetlands during
the mornings and move outside for tours and hands-on applications in the
afternoons.

On Saturday, prepare to get into the field with hands on sheet-mulching,
composting, and low-tunnel design and construction. We'll visit a handful
of innovative, productive and beautiful urban gardens managed by Franklinton
Gardens and then Maurice will lead us through some novel ways of quickly
turning a grass monoculture into a highly productive and beautiful
landscape. On Sunday, you will be responsible for using your newly acquired
skills to generate a permaculture design plan for Heirloom, a new
locally-owned restaurant/cafe in the Wexner Center founded by Chef John
Skaggs who will be preparing our meal for the day and showing us the
locations where permaculture could take hold on the OSU Columbus campus.

Cost of the course is $50 to $100 sliding scale (cash only day of). Cost
of OSU Students is $20. A limited number of scholarship are available.

To reserve a spot in the class please contact Zac at zschrock@me.com or
call 614 284 1812.
