As far as your experiences, did you pre- load the charcoal with compost tea
before using it? If you don't, it actually takes nutrients out of
circulation until it becomes "charged". But it sounds like great soil; I
don't know how biochar would improve it.

And that's what did it; now I am a believer.

So, I have used massive amounts of manures and rocks dusts on 5 acres (intensely on 3). What remains to be tried are:
1) all sorts and varieties of of compost teas, EM, IM, FPE, ACT, etc.
2) biochar

I would like to make enough to incorporate some into dozens of hundred foot long raised beds, one at a time, as I also amend that soil with granulated seaweed, rock phosphate, azomite and greensand.
