Yes - what Paul Wheaton said. I wholeheartedly agree. Have included it here
for reference rather than cutting it. - Kathleen

I just wanna clearly express something.

I hear a lot of talk about justifying the use of mollison's work
without mollison's permission. I'm worried that since I involved
myself in this discussion that if I don't say anything more, then
folks might think that I agree with the last thing said.

I want to be clear: I still think that using mollison's stuff without
his permission is wrong. I'm feeling a lot of shame being part of a
group that has so many advocates of something I feel is so wrong.

Further, I think this is the last I'm going to say on this topic: my
silence does not reflect any shift in philosophy on my part.

If what people are suggesting is good and right and decent, it would
seem that mollison would be okay with it. It seems he is not okay
with it.

If people want to discuss their idea of a utopia, that seems cool.
But stealing from mollison under the guise of said utopia is still
wrong.

There are still two big flaws that i see in all of this:

1) If we like mollison, why steal from him? Why not steal from icky
people instead?

2) And for those that think they are playing the part of robin hood
and stealing from the rich to give to the poor, I don't think mollison
is rich. So that makes it really messed up.

As for the argument about IP is fair game on the internet: not so.
There is constant work to put a stop to that. Publishing the works
of somebody else without their permission is still illegal. And
wrong.

I'm flabbergasted that I feel the need to even say it.

I thought there was more decency in the permaculture world.
