One of our farmers at the Oklahoma Food Coop is offering barley this month, but he doesn't have the equipment to remove the husk. Does anyone have any experience with small scale/home de-hulling of barley? Or can it just be cracked and cooked like rice in a pilaf, or put into a stew, with the husks still on? Would simply cracking it work?
