I live in Minnesota AND Buckthorn is a very pernicious introduction. WE are trying to eradicate it because it is destroying the prairies.

The paper has a few citations, not many, but PFAF also has some good info.

Wikipedia, not surprisingly, has a pretty decent article with basic
information and some nice pictures; there are some links to a whole

References, descriptions of the subspecies and their habitats,
and commercial or other sources of plants, all would be most helpful.

This is a really interesting and I think important species in its early
stages of domestication.
