Have you tried frying the grass with black plastic? My entire backyard was
infested with Bermuda and Kikuyu grass so I covered it completely for 5
months and I no longer have a grass problem. All I have now are the
beautiful yellow blooms of Oxalis that I can live with. Another thing the
black plastic method did not get was blackberry bushes. I ended up just
digging them out.

I used an old wool carpet and grass and weeds swallowed it right up
within a year or two - I now mow over it !
