Good point John. Once you get the hang of the scythe in an open field, the crop pretty much falls into wind rows making it easy to gather up with a compost fork.

I've never used a scythe, though I've seen them in use, and it looks like
they are a lot better in this respect...stuff falls pretty much where it's
cut...
