We already have citrus and hylocereus and passionfruit in there but they don't do much in winter (except the hylocereus likes to grab me when I'm looking the other direction), that's why I'm looking for something that will ripen some fruit. We had bananas in there for years, too, but they tended to get pretty sad-looking by late winter and took up way too much room. Guavas sound like the best bet so far; does anyone have an idea as to whether Psidium littorale might work better than Psidium guajava?

That should read:

I _have_ had those going for years, inside my house in the winter,
they would do a lot better in a greenhouse situation such as that.

I would try dwarf bananas, figs, guavas, feijoa, meyer's lemons, other
