Submersible pumps must be absolutely sealed, not only the motor but also
where the supply cord enters the motor, and the entire length of the cord
that is to be submerged. Replacing the cord would be a difficult enough job
even for a professional.
If you are the least bit uncertain about whether you could re-seal the motor,
I suggest you do not try it. You could create a very dangerous situation.
Given labor costs to work on these kinds of things, you are probably best off
buying a new pump.
