Ho, it doesn't work on rabbits, which is unfortunate because they are my biggest furry animal problem. I've tried some repellents with limited success. I do a lot of trapping with apple slices and sprinklings of caraway seeds.

Lee,Does your contraption work on rabbits? We have a problem with them eating garden produce. Sprayed eggs last year, but a Rabbitchaser would be more convenient.MarkKS_______________________________________________----- Original Message -----From: Lee ReichSent: Thursday, February 26, 2009 4:51 PMSubject: Re: [NAFEX] Deer repellents???Another way to repel deer is with Deerchaser, which you can purchase on the internet. Full disclosure: I developed the product. In all honesty, I would say it's about 85% effective. It's an electronic device consisting of a motion detector which, when activated, turns on a low (4 V) light and a radio tuned to low volume.(For some reason, the ad writers foolishly thought the product would sell better if they said it had a bright light and made a loud noise. Not so. Deer are very sensitive to noise, especially human type noises.)The area protected is, I think, about 25 by 50 feet, but it can also stop them from traveling certain paths.Lee Reich, PhDBooks by Lee Reich:A Northeast Gardener's YearThe Pruning BookWeedless GardeningUncommon Fruits for Every GardenLandscaping with FruitOn Feb 26, 2009, at 12:24 PM, Spidra Webster wrote:Can you keep a couple working dogs in the area?_______________________________________________Megan LynchBerkeley, CACRFG, NAFEX: I'm in USDA Zone 9bGarden with me on Folia: http://myfolia.com/gardener/spidra/inviteGolden Gate Chapter Blog: http://crfggoldengate.blogspot.com/CRFG Flickr Pool: http://www.flickr.com/groups/crfg/
