Hi,

Do not seal the plant or the soil in a plastic bag. Cool dampness is the
perfect home for rot and fungus.

You would be better off to give each pot a cupful of water monthly, or
when the soil dries out. They are dormant, so they will not use much
water.

Keep the air moving, do not seal them up, and keep the soil only slightly
damp (not wet).

I have a number of potted trees in my garage every year, and they are fine.
