Alas, we had one of those old semi-resistant american chestnuts in my
parents backyard growing up, but I think last year's cool, rainy weather did
it in. Bummer, just as I was getting interested enough in them to try find
someone to pollinate it. Anyone think a really large chestnut might
resprout if I cut it down to try to rejuvenate it? It doesn't appear to
have any life on top at all this year. Probably a lost cause.
