Hi,

I agree, temperment is key in the dog, not the breed. I currently have a
timid German Shepherd. She gets
chased by cats.

But I once had a female Collie/Shepherd cross which would protect against all
animals, regardless of their size
(smart too). I can remember her taking off after a HUGE Shepherd, twice her
size once, thinking it was the end
of her. She surprised me, and had that Shepherd covering ground in the
opposite direction as fast as it could
run in a few seconds.

Temperment is key, not the breed.

Later,
Tom
