My best tags so far are little cheap white plant markers, written on in
pencil, and stuck in the ground beside the tree trunk You could do 3 or 4
even if you wanted to make sure they don't get lost. They seem to be good
for 2 years before getting brittle, but in fact, you can still put together
and read the bits of a 3 or 4 year old marker. Seems like the easiest sort
of marker to replace every 2 years, just go stick a few more in the ground.
I also have some held onto certain branches with masking tape, they hang on
for at least a year, and are easy to spot, being white. I expect Lucky's
markers will last longer, but we both agree the place to not lose them is
stuck in the ground beside the tree trunk. Donna
