Hi,
Who says that wind breaks have to be evergreen?
The snowfence that gets put up everywerhe around here is not as dense as
an evergreen, and does the job well.
What are those short lived trees that go straight up, and grow like weeds,
and are short lived? I have seen those used as quick wind breaks. Then
the tops are cut off and you are left with fence posts.
Many old farms here have the orchard to the southwest of the house to form
a wind break for the home.
I don't think you need to be thinking evergreen. Dirty, buggie trees in
my opinion. Only slightly better than willow.
Later,
tom
