This probably explains the unpleasant memories I have of squirrel! My brother
would hunt all day, then come home and skin out his catch.

The rabbit memories are a bit worse. We all laughed about the slow rabbit my
brother caught bare-handed. Laughed until Dad, who had skinned it out, came
down
with rabbit fever. Tularemia (sp?) is nothing to laugh about. My dad almost
died
of it thirty years ago, and people still die from tularemia. This is not the
season for hunting rabbits (all the sickly ones die off in the cold winter),
and
if you come across a sluggish one, do not take any chances. Get away from it
as
quickly as you can.
