All of the suggestions are great re how to improve communication
with SAR management and get more calls.

In my experience, the most effective is in debriefing after any
SAR mission, whether actuall or training. Say exactly how your
own assignment would have been easier/safer/faster/more thorough
with your horse. Suggest what additional task assignments they
might want to plan for subsequent operational periods, employing
MSAR resources. The task assignment does have to have obvious
value for the specific SAR mission, but you can think about this
after you complete your assigned field task, as you ride back to
IB.

...but, you will make your case only if available MSAR resources
can actually do the task assignment, so take care not to oversell
yourselves or others.
