No, I think the little guy is a drug dealer--he's selling mushrooms and looking sideways

I think the little guy is a gnome. They seem to be associated with mushrooms. (I'm not sure why, as they seem to have started off associated with underground minerals.) Is the gnome supposed to be a pun on "small growers"?

I have no idea what any of the produce is supposed to be, except for the mushrooms. But I haven't seen the cover itself, only a somewhat larger picture on the web site.
