I use the Jang seeder and am quite happy with it. What do you mean, "if one takes the time to do it"? Like any good tool, it takes a bit of time to learn how to use it efficiently but is worth the effort.
I didn't thin carrots this year. That is the best endorsement I could give for the Jang seeder.
I also have experience with the Earthway seeder. The Jang is superior, as you may expect, except when it comes to certain irregular seeds such as parsnip and certain beet seeds. Because of the odd shapes of these seeds they don't work well with a "precise seeder".
Also, you should expect to purchase a handful of seed rollers as these do not usually come with the seeder. That can add an extra
$100-200.

Subject: [Market-farming] Push Seeders
Hello All,
I currently am using an Earthway seeder, but am planning on trying out a new "brand" for the upcoming season. The ones I have been looking at are the European Push Seeder and the Jang Clean Seeder, both from Johnnys. I'm wondering what experience you all have had using one or the other or both? I have cohorts that really like the European Push seeder, but although more expensive, the Jang seems to be a more precise seeder (if one takes the time to do it).
Thanks in advance,
Ben
