I know that some of the larger markets here in Kansas have an EBT/CC/Debit Card machine for the market and then the customers are issued cash tokens to use with the vendors.  Then the vendors turn them back in for payment.  I don't think I would get enough use out of one to justify it.  However, maybe if they get more reasonable.

The fact is that many people just don’t carry cash anymore its not just credit cards its debit cards… I havnt written physical check in many years. I think it is important to be able to meet the customers normal mode of payment.

There's an ATM within a block or two of each market that I go to. And while I occasionally get a customer who says "I'll be right back, I need to go get cash!" I don't think I get a request to use a credit card more than once every couple of years.

The particular customer base of course varies from market to market; it's possible that at yours you would lose significant sales by not taking cards. I really don't think it's an issue around here.
