THis is my third year harvesting horseradish.  Got a really nice haul.  Would have been better if the new bed I put in this spring produced better, but my old small bed produce just over 20# so I am happy.  The new bed a big die off late season during a our drought.  We watered a bit, and it should have been enough to keep them alive, the but in the end we had lost nearly half of the 40 plantings.  As I dug out the survivors I noticed some had a rot or dry rot if you will...jut a couple, the rest seemed fine.  The ones that had this dry rotted area also had these gray bugs on them that I have never seen and I feel at a loss as to what they are.

Photos are can be found at the link above.  Can anyone help me out?

I am adding another bed, maybe 2 for the cuttings I have left.  Few people in the region are growing it in any quantity and people seem to be paying top dollar for it.  I replant the beds the same day I harvest and what is left gets wrapped in moist newspaper and kept cool and dormant till I can replant again.
