Good point Richard. My father in law is an electrician and when I told him why I wanted all this EMT, he said it will rust when it is in contact with the ground.  How long before it is rusted to much to use, I don't know.  It made me think, what if you paint the ends of the pipes?  Would that help lengthen the life of these hoops?  You would probably need to paint the insides of the ends too. Then that made me think about getting some of that expanding foam and squirting it in each end to seal them up. I do this on any pipe that I use in the garden to support plants or around livestock. That way wasps and hornets can't make a nests in them. Would that help lengthen the life span any?  I am open for suggestions.  Probably would need to check if you could use that foam in an organic operation I bet.

Just an idea.
