we lost about 400 plants the first week of June 2 seasons ago, here, outside of Washington, DC.

Out standard outdoor varieties, goliath, old fashioned goliath, park's
whopper, Carolina gold, some heirlooms, lots of cherries. We typically
are frost free by the third week in April, almost always by the first of
May, and we do not protect them. Haven't lost any yet - always a first
time!
