Dear List,
We’re looking for the right drip system for our new, one-acre vegetable farm, which we just moved to three weeks ago. I’ve lurked for months on this [fantastic] list and read all the relevant posts, but after reading the companies’ literature -- Berry Hill, Irrigation-Mart, and Robert Marvel -- I can’t decide between T-tape, Queen Gil, and the new entry, Toro’s Aquatraxx, which Berry Hill is touting. I suppose they’re all probably pretty good, but is anyone aware of any specific advantages or disadvantages of any of these tapes? And does the thickness really matter? Will a west-central Alabama rodent tire of chewing on 15 ml, or can I get by with a thinner wall? Most seem to think it's worth it to spring for the thicker type of tape. We're on sandy loam with a clay underlayer, and the fields are pretty flat.
Thanks,
Bill and Jan
