Having been allergic to strawberries since childhood,
and never having heard one make a sound, I hope my
comments have some value.

Think in terms of ecosystem totality and general forest
health. In a big, old forest, many trees get more fire
resistant as they get older. Fire is a natural part of
forest life. Occasional fires provide new growth areas
and open spaces for meadows which feed birds, and
so forth.

When all the old trees are cut down, forests burn down
more easily because most of the trees are similarly
aged and Nature's randomness has not had time to
work its magic.

You may not buy it, but there it is.
